SPACECRAFT CHECKOUT
A 2m VHF radio was carried along, to verify that the APRS radio was transmitting. However, the tracking team was able to see position reports from both the APRS radio and the cell phone prior to launch, and relay that to the launch team, so it was not used.
LAUNCH SUPPORT
Binoculars were carried to attempt to visually track the balloon's ascent. However, the balloon disappeared into the cloud deck within 30 seconds of launch.
A laptop was carried, and used by the launch team upon return, to log into the APRS and cell phone websites, and observe position.
